I was born and raised in Creede and have found my way back!! I started my Early Childhood as a lead teacher in a toddler and assistant director. I became the Director at the CELC in June 2018. I have worked in the early childhood field for 20 years. I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I have a level 6 Early childhood credential, director license, an Infant Toddler specialist certification, and have a Colorado Early Childhood coaching and training credential.

I am from Creede and have lived here on and off for my entire life. I graduated from Creede High School in 2003. I left right afterward and have lived mostly in Connecticut and Arizona since. I received my associates in Human Services in 2008. I pursued my CDA (Child Development Associate) in 2021 which is a nationally recognized Early Childhood Education credential that qualifies me as a lead teacher for ages 3-5. Since starting at the CELC in June of 2022, I have attended two conferences: Montessori in the Mountains and the Rocky Mountain Early Childhood Conference, and I also completed The Expanding Quality in Infant Toddler Care through the Early Childhood Council of the San Luis Valley and Trinidad State College. I currently have a level 3 Early childhood credential and directors license.
Sarah Stebbins
Hello! My name is Sarah Stebbins. I am from Amarillo, Texas and this is my first season at the CELC! I graduated from West Texas A&M University with a bachelors in Theatre Design and Technology and my master’s in business management. Creede has always been my second home, having grown up visiting family here and exploring all that this special place has to offer. I have spent the past 3 summers working at the 4UR Ranch here in Creede and decided to pursue a different line of work with the early learning center this winter. My interests include reading, hiking, exploring with friends, jigsaw puzzles, art projects, and animals. I look forward to meeting more of the CELC/Creede community! I currently have Level 2 Early childhood credential.

Hi, my name is Meghan Kern! I came to Creede originally to work with Creede Rep and absolutely fell in love with the town and the people here. My background is nearly entirely childcare and children’s theatre. I love working with kiddos because it’s a constant reminder that anything is possible. Kiddos think in limitless terms that force us to forget the box entirely and follow our wildest dreams. It’s a reminder for me, even as an adult, that there is no problem that can’t be solved with a little creative thinking. It’s a very magical thing to witness, and such a special honor to be a part of that process. I currently have a Level 2 Early childhood credential.
Concerns / Grievances / Suggestions
An open line of communication and quick resolution of problems is important to the Creede Early Learning Center. Parent or guardian grievances and concerns should be brought first to the attention of the Lead Teacher in your child's classroom. If a resolution is not satisfacorty, please then communicated with our Executive Director. If a resolution has still not been made, the parent/guardian are encouraged to submit in writing the grievances to the Board of Directors. The Board will review the grievance at the next regular scheduled meeting and take appropriate action. The Board will not entertain rumor, gossip or hearsay as serious business.
