Joining the Board

Our Board of Directors fills vacancies as needed with devoted individuals with a stake in the future of the county.

Board members are encouraged to donate at least $5 per year and make a good faith effort to attend every board meeting possible. Our meetings are held on the second Monday of most months at 6:00pm. Meetings times average two hours and Zoom access is typically available. CELC board members support the Center in its special activities and fundraisers as needed, as well as take on committee involvement as they feel qualified and called.

If you are interested in joining us, please contact a current board member to learn about vacancies. If a vacancy is available, the Board will need to approve your nomination and will extend an invite to our next board meeting. Sitting in on a meeting would allow you to get an idea of who we are, how we work, and what we do. Then, if you accept the nomination, the board would then move forward with a membership vote.

Concerns / Grievances / Suggestions

An open line of communication and quick resolution of problems is important to the Creede Early Learning Center. Parent or guardian grievances and concerns should be brought first to the attention of the Lead Teacher in your child's classroom. If a resolution is not satisfacorty, please then communicated with our Executive Director. If a resolution has still not been made, the parent/guardian are encouraged to submit in writing the grievances to the Board of Directors. The Board will review the grievance at the next regular scheduled meeting and take appropriate action. The Board will not entertain rumor, gossip or hearsay as serious business. Please review our Bylaws and Parent Handbook, Policies & Procedures for more information.

SUPPORT US

A volunteer Board of Directors governs the CELC. We must survive on donations from individuals, businesses, and private foundations. The fees you pay to the Center make up approximately 1/3 of what it costs to provide care for your child(ren). We always welcome donations of snack food, toys (in good condition), money, and your time!
